MANILA, Philippines - Strong winds have started to buffet parts of Tumauini, Isabela as supertyphoon Juan (international codename: Megi) barrelled towards northern Luzon Monday.

A report by radio dzMM reported Dennis Datu said winds and floods have affected several barangays in Tumauini as of Monday morning. It said floods have affected ricefields and cornfields in San Pablo, Cabagan, Santa Maria and Tumauini towns.

Forty-five families or a total of 103 residents in Dinapigue town were evacuated ahead of the expected landfall of typhoon Juan.

Authorities said power supply has been cut in Northern Isabela since Sunday night in anticipation of the typhoon's strong winds
