The former La Salle star was selected No. 2 overall pick in the rookie draft and coach Ryan Gregorio knows the team found a gem in him. The six-foot-five forward gives versatility in the Giants� frontline as Maierhofer is a quick and athletic forward who gives priority on defense although he was also known as a scorer in the UAAP and PBL.
But the question for the Puerto Galera-born cager is whether he can withstand the pushing and shoving in the shaded lane. The 23-year-old Maierhofer has already developed a decent perimeter game and what he needs to work on is his ball-handling skills and post-up game.
