Metro Manila police will remain on full alert at least until October 25, the day of the Barangay (village) and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK, youth council) elections.

Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported on Thursday that Metro Manila police director Chief Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome instructed police personnel to ensure peaceful polls on Monday.

Officials to be elected

According to GMA News Research, voters have to elect the following on October 25:

Barangay
# 1 Punong Barangay (barangay captain)
# 7 Barangay Kagawad

Sangguniang Kabataan
# 1 SK Chairman
# 7 SK Kagawad

Facts and figures on the October 25 polls

50,257,540 registered voters for the barangay elections

2,459,520 registered SK voters

36,227 voting centers nationwide

P168.29 million allocated amount for SK registration

P3.24 billion total allocation for SK and Barangay elections

P3.00 amount a candidate is allowed to spend for every registered voter in the barangay where he or she is seeking election

42,025 total number of barangays

672,400 number of positions to be filled in the coming barangay and SK elections

42,025 punong barangay

294,175 barangay kagawad

42,025 SK chairs

294,175 SK members
