MANILA, Philippines - Two key players of San Sebastian-Excelroof and Far Eastern U remain unsure of their stints in Game Two of their best-of-three series in the Final Four of the Shakey’s V-League Season 7 second conference at The Arena in San Juan tomorrow.
“I’m not sure but we hope she’ll be able to play in Game Two,” said SSC coach Roger Gorayeb after steering the team to a scrambling 30-28, 25-16, 22-25, 25-20 win Thursday.
He was referring to Jennelyn Belen, the team’s lone setter who had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering from abdominal pain.
Belen was advised to rest for five days, making her a doubtful starter against for the Lady Stags.
Without her, Gorayeb had to use hitter Joy Benito as the team’s setter with Thai import Jeng Bualee also helping in setting up the team’s play.
The Lady Tams’ bid also suffered in the absence of leading scorer Rachel Anne Daquis, who sustained an ankle injury during training.
“We’re not sure whether Rachel (Daquis) can play in Game Two but we will do our best to win,” said FEU mentor Nes Pamilar.
Meanwhile, Adamson also goes for the clincher against Lyceum in their own side of the Final Four. with the Lady Falcons pulling off a scary 25-13, 17-25, 25-11, 24-26, 15-7 win over the Lady Pirates.
