Manila Philippines-The Far Eastern University(FEU) fougth back in the fourth quarter of Game1 of their final four match against Dela Salle University and sent the game to overtime,55all on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The score were 55-52 in favor of the Archers when Paul Sanga score a triple for the Tamaraws for a deadlock with 30.9 seconds reamaining.
La Salle then wasted the clock and turned to Simon Atkins for a tie breaker He,However he missed,the three points attempt.
The Archers took control of the game in the second quarter and had a 44-40 lead in the third quarter.
Joshua Webb steeped up his game to keep the Archers ahead 38-29 midway the third.
Jenn Knutell and Alredch Ramos brougth Tamaraws with 3 points,37-40 with less than 4 minutes remaining in the third.
Mendoza basket off Ramos assist further cut La Salle lead to 1 point, 41-40 with 1:54 minutes left in the third frame.
But a give and go play Atkins and Yutien Andarada kept La Salle ahead,44-40
The Archers were leading the game at the half,32-26
Tolentino and Atkins went on an 8-2 run allowing La Salle to tie the game,22 all midway the second quarter
A scuffle nearly erupted between the two squads when JR Cawaling commited an uncessarry foul on a Archers at 4:27 minutes. A refferee drug him out off the scence but Cawaling pushed him away.
He was later called for unsportsmanlike action and was ejected from the game,Atkins who was also caugth in the meelee was a meted technical foul.
With FEU state off the play affected by Cawaling ouster La Salle seized the lead,29-22 on Tolentino triples with 3:07 left remaining in the second quarter
FEU had a 20-12 lead over La Salle after the first quarter
FEU has a twice to beat advantage over La Salle
All the Tamaraws have to do is beat the Archers once to win a slot in the UAAP mens Basketball finals
