Letran bullied Emilio Aguinaldo, 68-47, yesterday to finish its campaign at fifth place in the 86th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
Jam Cortes pounded his way to 15 points and 15 rebounds while Jaypee Belencion and Kris Alas chipped in 15 and 12 points, respectively, to seal the Knights their seventh win against nine losses.
“The blame is on me,” said Letran coach Louie Alas, who suffered his first losing season since crashing out also in the Final Four with a 7-7 record eight years ago.
“But we’re using this to learn and we’re looking forward to using this for next season,” he added. Perpetual Help ended its campaign with a bang after turning back Arellano U, 66-61, to wind up at 2-14.
