THE management of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws has yet to act on the decision of Glenn Capacio to resign as head coach of the team.
Capacio offered to resign a few days after the Tamaraws were swept by the Ateneo Blue Eagles in their best-of-three championship series of the 73rd University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament.
“They (management) have no decision yet. Nandiyan naman ang mga assistant coaches,” said team consultant Robert Flores.
Louie Gonzales and Richie Ticzon will temporarily take over the post vacated by Capacio and will be preparing the Tamaraws for the coming Unigames in Iloilo and the Philippine Collegiate Champions League slated next month.
Capacio’s blood pressure shot up during the first half of Game 2 and he was immediately rushed to the Medical City.
The FEU head tactician later said his doctors advised him to take a long rest before resuming his coaching career.
Meanwhile, Ateneo coach Norman Black said he is keen on putting Capacio’s son Gwynne on the Blue Eagles’ roster for next season.
The young Capacio is one of three members of the victorious Ateneo Blue Eaglets squad, the two others being Kiefer Ravena and Von Pesummal
