PBA Players Blending Well With Gilas

Manila Philippines-The three PBA recruits -Asi Taulava Kelly Williams,and Sol Mercado have been blending very well in practice with the Smart Gilas RP Team to the 2010 Asian Games in Ghuangzhou,team manager Frankie Lim said on Tuesday.

'Theyre doing okie since joining our practice,"said Lim."I think the Asean Games we'll field competitive team."

The National team will have to get passed Saudi Arabia in the iniatial phase of the tournament to gain entry to the main competition of the bennial meet,which will be hold from Nov 12-27

Taulava,who was traded to the Meralco Bolts from the Coca Cola (now Powerade)Tigers PBA season,played for Smart Gilas doing the FIBA-Asia Stankovic Cup where it finished third

IN case Marcus Douhit fails to get his naturalization in time for the Asiad,Taulava, a veteran of numerous international stints beginning with the 2002 Busan Games,would fit the bill center spot

"He's going to be a big help inside because he'll be an inside presenc by being able to pushed the opposing bigmen out of the paint,Lim said

Williams,the 2008 PBA Most Valuable Player,joined the RP team practiced last week while Meralco,The Rain Or Shine splitfire,participated before days prior

Kelly has been practicing with the team since last week and everyone knows how he plays and Sol is really solid at the shooting guard position,"added Lim.
