Manila, Philippines - As of 4:00 p.m today, Typhoon "JUAN" was located at 390 km East of Aparri, Cagayan (18.5°N, 125.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph.
It is moving Westward at 22 kph with an estimated central pressureof 938 hpa.
Classes have been suspended in Regions 1, 2 and the Cordillera Administrative Region for Monday.
Preschool and kindergarten levels are automatically suspended for regions affected by Signal no. 1.
The suspension of classes were made in accordance with the existing guidelines of the DepEd regarding class suspensions.
Suspension for classes in the college level will be left up to the discretion of colleges and universities and/or upon the orders of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd).
Additional class suspension advisories will be announced later on after PAGASA holds the latest update regarding Typhoon “JUAN” (Megi).
