At WWE Bragging Rights, The Undertaker will get one last opportunity to reclaim his holy grail when he clashes with World Heavyweight Champion Kane in a Buried Alive Match for the World Title, with Paul Bearer firmly in the corner of "The Devil’s Favorite Demon." (WATCH)
The Buried Alive Match may be the most appropriate resting place for the horrific rivalry between The Brothers of Destruction. An epic struggle that can only be won when a Superstar throws his opponent into a 6-foot-deep grave and buries them with dirt, it promises to finally establish the supreme force of darkness in WWE.
Going into the tumultuous showdown, Kane has truly asserted himself as “The Devil’s Favorite Demon.” After leaving his brother in a vegetative state, The Big Red Monster triumphed over The Undertaker in both a No Holds Bared Match at Night of Champions and a Hell in a Cell Match in the sadistic pay-per-view of the same name. The latter victory took his reign of terror to a new level, thanks to the treacherous actions of the recently returning Paul Bearer. In the match’s definitive moment, “The Father of Destruction” betrayed The Demon of Death Valley, using the power of his mystical urn to help his son Kane reign supreme.
One of the things that has helped make The Undertaker “The Phenom” throughout his legendary career has been his dominance in Buried Alive Matches. And his assault on Kane during the Oct. 15 edition of SmackDown demonstrated the continued existence of his menacing fury. But, is he the same Undertaker who has left a path of destruction in his wake for the past two decades. Many have speculated that the ominous Superstar is simply not what he used to be. Has his pride indeed made him easy prey for Kane?
Find out who will emerge with the World Heavyweight Championship and who will “drown in a hell of dirt and darkness?” Watch WWE Bragging Rights, Sunday, Oct. 24 at 8/7 CT only on pay-per-view.
