Stone Cold Steve Austin became new WWF Champion with the help of WWF chairman and owner Mr. Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 17 on 1st April 2001. Rock and Stone Cold were seriously injured in this match. These wrestling superstars recovered with Medical treatment. Rock returned to the Monday Night Raw on 2nd April 2001 when Vince McMahon decided to give small speech about WrestleMania 17. Suddenly, people raised their voice for People’s Champion.
Rock gets a chance for WWF Title by handling Mr. McMahon for Rematch. McMahon intimated the WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin and arranged Steel Cage match between Stone Cold and Rock for WWF title in the same night. Finally, Rock faced Stone Cold in Steel Cage Match. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman were special commentators for this match. Rock really exploded for his title against Stone Cold in this match conducted at Fort Worth, Texas.
Rock completely dominated the Stone Cold Steve Austin in this match. Vince McMahon interrupted this match when Rock ready to retain his title. Referee was unable to disqualify this match mainly due to disqualification condition. Rock faced both these opponents in one ring. Suddenly, The Game Triple H appeared. Almost all wrestling fans believed that Game comes to help the Rock but Stone Cold, McMahon and Triple H became team against Rock. Stone Cold Steve Austin retained his title without submission.
The Rock was suspended by the Mr. McMahon from the WWF after this match. Rock went to “The Mummy Returns” Movie Shooting after this match for Four months. He successfully completed his shooting and come back to the WWF with the help of Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon’s Special invitation to Join in WCW Alliance. Shane Mc Mahon owned WCW and Stephanie McMahon owned ECW from Paul Heyman. Mr. McMahon’s children forced Mr. McMahon to close the WWF.
