In basketball, a rebound is defined as the act of successfully gaining possession after a missed shot or free throw. It can be an offensive or a defensive rebound. Here is a list of outstanding individual performances in the PBA for imports and locals.
Michael Hackett established the individual record for most number of rebounds in a game at 45. He established it in the Ginebra-Great Taste game on November 24, 1985. Among the locals, Marcelino Simbulan recorded the most number of total rebounds in a game. He grabbed 29 rebounds during the 7-Up vs. Carrier match on June 3, 1975.
"El Presidente" Ramon Fernandez is the all-time leader in total rebounds with 8,652 total rebounds. He is also the all-time leader in defensive rebounds with 6,435.
Jerry Codinera, "The Defense Minister" established the record for most offensive rebounds with 2,411 spanning 871 games and 17 seasons from 1988 - 2005.
Paul Asi Taulava holds the record for the best rebounding average with 12.4 rebounds per game in 239 games dating from 1999 to 2010. He had his best average in 2003 while playing for Talk n Text with an average of 13.7 rebounds per game.
