CLEVELAND, OH - August 10, 2010 - For the sixth time in seven seasons, the Cleveland Cavaliers will open the 2010-11 season at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavaliers will take on the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Oct. 27th, marking the third consecutive season that the Cavaliers and Celtics will tip off in the Cavaliers’ season opener.

The Cavaliers are scheduled to appear on at least three national television broadcasts, including the Miami Heat’s first visit to Cleveland on Dec. 2nd on TNT. The game will also be aired nationally on ESPN Radio. Cleveland will also appear in national television broadcasts on NBA TV at Phoenix on Jan. 9 and on ESPN against the New Orleans Hornets on March 6 at The Q.

The regional television broadcast schedule on FOX Sports Ohio will be announced at a later date. All games will be broadcast locally, and regionally across the Cavaliers Radio Network, by the Cavaliers’ flagship station WTAM 1100 AM by Joe Tait, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2010 Curt Gowdy Media Award recipient. The upcoming 2010-11 season is expected to be Tait’s final as the ‘Voice of the Cavaliers’.

This season’s 82-game schedule consists of 41 home and 41 road games. The Cavaliers will face each Western Conference opponent twice this season, once at The Q and once on the road. Each Eastern Conference opponent will play Cleveland four times (twice at The Q and twice on the road) with the exception of Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte and Toronto, whom the Cavs will play three times.

* 18 home weekend games with six Friday games, five Saturday games and seven Sunday games.
* A Sunday matinee game at The Q at 1 p.m. against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 13.
* A season-high eight-game home stand from Feb. 9 to March 2; their longest stretch of consecutive home games in a season since the 1994-95 campaign.
* A season-high five-game road trip (Jan. 7-15).
* Nineteen of the Cavs’ final 30 games at home at The Q, including the season finale on April 13 versus Washington.
* Twenty-two sets of back-to-back games, including six home-road sets, eight road-home sets and eight road-road sets.
* Four occasions in which the Cavs will play four games in five nights and four instances in which the Cavs will play five games in seven nights.


Full season tickets are currently on sale, while partial season (multiple game) ticket plans will go on sale on Tuesday, August 17th. Initial payments for partial season ticket plans and group tickets (20 or more tickets to a single game) are now being accepted which will provide seating location priority. Single-game tickets will go on sale closer to the start of the season on a date to be announced.
