MANILA, Philippines - Water levels at major reservoirs in Luzon remained normal Monday morning ahead of the onslaught of supertyphoon Juan (international codename: Megi).

Dr. Susan Espinueva, chief of weather bureau PAGASA's hydrometeorology division, said only Ambuklao dam in Benguet was releasing water as of 6 a.m. after the water level reached 746.65 meters.

Espinueva said the water level in Magat Dam in Isabela province is at 183.3 meters, less than 10 meters below the critical level of 193 meters. She earlier said that 120 mm of rain is needed to fill up Magat Dam.

Other water reservoirs remained at normal levels including Angat Dam (180.63), Binga Dam (567.65), San Roque Dam (250.64), Pantabangan Dam (194.34) and Ipo Dam (99.39).
