MANILA, Philippines — In only two days, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) headed by Chairperson Margarita P. Juico has fulfilled two Filipinos’ dream of hitting the jackpot as they won the Super Lotto 6/49’s P152,513,661.60 and Megalotto 6/45's P18,606,636 on Tuesday and last barangay election day Monday, respectively.
Another much-coveted roll-over jackpot is Grand Lotto 6/55’s P269,341,419.60 prize as of press time on Wednesday. PCSO estimate the Grand Lotto plum on draw date Wednesday evening at P274 million.
While the Grand Lotto jackpot has remained elusive to millions of bettors, the prizes for Super Lotto 6/49 and Megalotto 6/45 have been won on October 26 and 25, respectively.
A bettor in Naic, Cavite, who bought the ticket for the winning combination of 22-35-29-21-33-26 at the outlet of Jose Ricardo snared the Super Lotto bonanza while the winner of the Megalotto windfall got purchased his ticket – 06-17-24-45-22-28 – in Liliw, Laguna, at the outlet of Alberto Cariño, PCSO's Public Relations and Publicity Department (PRPD) Manny Garcia said.
Garcia said as of 10:45 a.m. Wednesday none of the two lucky bettors has shown up yet at the PCSO to collect their winnings.
For the second prize of Super Lotto, he said there are 22 winners, 1,348 for third and 31,917 for fourth.
Garcia said Super Lotto sold P40,674,100 worth of tickets immediately before the draw on October 26 shown live on NBN4 television.
Liza Gabuyo, assistant general manager for PCSO’s On-Line Lottery, said the biggest so far won in PCSO’s lotto was P347,836,903 for Super Lotto on Feb. 22, 2009 shared by two Luzon bettors.
From 1995 to July 29, 2010, PCSO figures for the winners are 1,513 and the jackpot total amounted to P26,071,057,584.67.
This is broken down into one winner for Grand Lotto for P134,629,873.20; 183 winners for Super Lotto with a total prize of P7,052,568,301.80; 557 winners for Mega Lotto worth P10,150,360,877.71; and Lotto 6/42 with 772 who won an aggregate of P8,733,498,531.96.
