He had just hosted Kapamilya noontime show “Wowowee” last week, and now, Cesar Montano is a certified Kapuso.
The actor, host and director recently signed a contract with GMA-7, his wife Sunshine Cruz confirmed via her Twitter account on July 13, Tuesday.
“Good pm tweeps. Just want to answer some questions sent to me here on twitter. Yes it's true, hubby is now a Kapuso.
”
Sunshine revealed that, “Cesar will be doin' 2 shows on Gma 7. A teleserye & a sitcom.
,” but did not dish out further details. “i have to stop from here & wait for Cesar to answer your other questions.
,” she wrote.
Cesar is believed to have signed the contract on July 13, although the most recent reports did not specify the actual date of the signing.
Four days ago, Sunshine curiously posted several tweets, which seemingly pertained to her husband’s career.
“Kapamilya or kapuso?” she first posted, which was then followed by: “What if there's no definite offer from ‘them’? What if an offer secures a few months of our children's future?
”
She promised to update her followers, “but for now, pray muna for the best decision.
goodnight and don't forget to go to church tomorrow…”
Online reports posted on July 14 say that Cesar had a pictorial with Rhian Ramos and Aljur Abrenica the day before, the stars of the upcoming GMA drama series, “Romana Santa.” Shooting for soap opera is said to have begun on Wednesday. It was also announced on the same day via PEP Scoopbox that Ara Mina will play the role of Cesar’s wife on the show.
The reports added that Cesar was supposed to sign up with the Kapuso network back in 2007. However, it did not materialize because he ran as senator under the administration ticket on the same year. He lost the bid. He tried again during the May 2010 polls as governor of Bohol but met the same fate.
The former ABS-CBN talent started his hosting chores for “Wowowee” on July 3 and remained as the show’s main man for a few days before Luis Manzano again took over. Aside from Robin Padilla, Cesar is said to be one of the strongest contenders to replace Willie Revillame as host.
Cesar was a Kapamilya for many years. His most popular stints were the sitcoms “Kaya ni Mister, Kaya ni Misis” and “Bida si Mister, Bida si Misis” in which he co-starred with Diamond Star Maricel Soriano; the teleserye “Palos” with Jake Cuenca, and more recently, the now-defunct game show “The Singing Bee.”
